Burglary Near You - Haworth Road

🚨 Community Alert – Burglary & Vehicle Theft

Incident Summary:
The victim and suspect(s) are not known to each other. Between Saturday 9th May 0030hrs and 1000hrs, unknown person(s) gained entry to a property via the rear door, which had been locked and secure the previous evening.

Once inside, the suspect(s) carried out a search of the kitchen area, leaving cupboards and drawers open. Handbags and jackets were searched, leading to the discovery of car keys.

A vehicle was subsequently stolen from the address, along with a box of jewellery and other items.

The suspect(s) then left the scene in the victim’s vehicle, making off in an unknown direction.

🔒 Crime Prevention Advice:

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, including rear and side access points.

Keep house and car keys out of sight and away from doors/windows.

Avoid leaving valuables (e.g. jewellery, handbags) easily accessible.

Consider installing alarms, CCTV, or motion lighting.

Secondly, if you have a door with a cylinder lock (commonly found on composite or UPVC doors), please take time to check your lock:

Ensure it is properly fitted and in good condition.

We recommend locks that have a 3-star rating marked on the front.

Look for locks that are TS007 or SS312 rated, as these provide protection against snapping.

Many security companies supply and fit these anti-snap locks.

Whilst we do not wish to alarm anyone, it is always advisable to review your home security and report any suspicious activity to police.
